In deepest winter

I just recently bought January UK Vogue ... it's fantastic. The first editorial in particular is a feast for the eyes. Its quite fun to see how the Vogue people style the items you can remember so well from the runway shows they belong to.

One problem though, is that there is almost no consideration of what us lovely people have to go through in the cold everyday. Maybe I'm an extreme noob and Jan Vogue is really meant to show all the S/S ideas, but let's be sensible here.

I wrapped up to the extreme today. It's fun, almost like a challenge because you get to work with so many different layers & accessories and try to find a combination that will make you warm.

So basically here is my outfit theme for heading into London on Monday.

Last niiiiight

Yesterday I visited a local haberdashery in search of beads, buttons, sequins and things, only to find it's gone bust and a disgusting junk shop put in it's place. Sad :(.
At least I got a copy of Dazed & Confused out of it. Maybe my new favourite magazine. More about that coming.

This week I banned myself from the internet to get work done. It kinda worked, and tonight is time to relax. But midnight comes and I just feel like sleeping.
I am planning to work on this blog a lot more to find direction. Right now its mish mash.

Whitley Kros Spring 2009

If you haven't heard of Marissa Ribisi and Sophia Coloma's label Whitley Kros, take a look, because it's just about the best of LA Fashion Week that I've seen.

Overall a soft, easy collection. Some pieces almost seem like pyjamas. Quite a delicious colour scheme. And I must not leave out the hair, those top-of-the-head buns are quite the easy ninja type chic. (Hmm ninja chic ... who's ever seen one to know?)

I am going to have to work on my critiqing skills.

Bobo the (sexy?) clown.

How do you bring "clown" into 2008 so that it's wearable and not overtly ridiculous? It seems near impossible (curly yellow wigs ARE NOT attractive!), yet intriguing. I think Clown could be the next big trend, although I hope not.
According to Topshop's AW08 collection, what can only be described as sexy clown is what the kids are gunna be wearing. Well the Topshop kids anyway.








There are other examples of clown-ish ideas floating around, but I can't find them right now.

However the Halloween theme is clearly carrying on into AW08, if Luella is anything to go by.

In conclusion, clowns aren't scary. Not when they look like THIS.
